Hot Rolled Alloy Bars are typically annealed or heat treated (quenched and tempered), depending on the end use. Heat treating is employed to attain required mechanical properties, typically at the expense of machinability. Heat treated bars are often stress relieved in order to have more precise control of these mechanical properties.

It can be ordered as Cold Drawn or Hot Rolled. Cold drawn alloy bars will have a better surface condition and restricted tolerances.

Polygon provides alloy steel hot rolled bar in standard 4140 & 4142, 4340, 8620.
